Town & Country Conservatories

Town & Country Conservatories brings beauty and appreciation for nature to homes—or any building—with their gorgeous custom English conservatories. For twenty-eight years and counting, this unique firm has provided beautiful conservatories, garden rooms, pool houses, and English skylights to clients in both traditional and contemporary styles with quality wood and aluminum. They build nationwide, in Canada, and even as far away as New Zealand. James Licata, the owner of Town & Country Conservatories, has grown his team with highly-skilled and creative individuals so that their conservatories are the best they can be.

A conservatory provides an airy openness to a home in the summer and a protected connection to the outdoors in the winter. This firm’s passion for their work enables them to be excited about each and every one of their creations. They also take care to make any project look as if it had always been a part of the original home or grounds. For a property outside of Pittsburgh, PA, Town & Country Conservatories gave intentional thought to the design that would replace the homeowner’s patio with an outdoor space that could be used all year round.

“In collaboration with the owner’s architect,” Town & Country Conservatories explained, “we created a poolside conservatory that could maintain the transitional feeling of a covered enclosure while bringing natural light and more of the outdoors into the space.” By using folding sliding doors and windows, the thirty-five foot by fifteen foot structure was given a completely open feeling. “The conservatory reinvents the living space and celebrates the natural views instead of obscuring them.” The stairways to the pools were also redesigned to blend the building and different elevation heights into the surroundings.

The rectangular conservatory now hosts a dining room and living area, and the owners love spending time inside. “Much like the owners of this poolside conservatory,” James Licata told us, “you will find that a glass room is more than just an ordinary addition. It will become your favorite room.” This firm’s work is definitely showstopping, and it also showcases a novel aspect of the luxury design industry.
